What changed
On September 11, 2024, RV Mobile Internet reported a rename and repricing of Starlink’s travel plans:

RV Mobile Internet called it “once again a $15/month increase.” Roam 50GB, previously tied to the Mini, “can now be paired with any Starlink system,” with extra data at $1 per GB beyond 50GB, per the report.
Who it affected
- Existing Mobile Regional customers: the new price from October 10, 2024.
- New customers: the new names and prices immediately.
- Owners of a Standard kit who used the service lightly on the road gained access to the $50 plan.
What it did to the cost
- Roam Unlimited, year 1 (plan only): from $1,800 (12 × $150) to $1,980 (12 × $165). Year 3: from $5,400 to $5,940.
- Light users with a Standard kit could move to Roam 50GB at $600 a year if 50GB a month was enough, against $1,980 on Unlimited.
The report noted other changes with a cost angle: Roam plans were described as supporting in-motion use up to 100 mph, use in any country where Starlink is licensed, and the option to add priority data for open-ocean use was removed, leaving the $250-a-month Mobile Priority plan for that.
What stayed the same
- Residential plan prices were not part of this change.
- Kit prices were not part of this change.
What happened next
Roam Unlimited rose again to $175 in May 2026, Roam 50GB became Roam 100GB at the same price in January 2026, and the international rules for Roam were tightened in July 2026.
