Background. This change happened more than 90 days ago. It is kept as a dated record; check current prices before relying on any figure below.
What changed
On May 16, 2026, RV Mobile Internet reported Starlink’s first broad US price increase of the year, covering home plans, Roam plans and Standby Mode:
| Item | Old | New | Change per month | Change per year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Residential 100 Mbps | $50 | $55 | +$5 | +$60 |
| Residential 200 Mbps | $80 | $85 | +$5 | +$60 |
| Residential Max | $120 | $130 | +$10 | +$120 |
| Roam 100GB | $50 | $55 | +$5 | +$60 |
| Roam 300GB | $80 | $80 | $0 | $0 |
| Roam Unlimited | $165 | $175 | +$10 | +$120 |
| Standby Mode | $5 | $10 | +$5 | +$60 |
Starlink’s reason, as quoted in the report: “Strong demand for Starlink reflects the value customers continue to see in the service. This adjustment supports ongoing improvements and investment in affordable, high-performance products and services as global operating costs continue to rise.”
When
- New customers: from the announcement, May 16, 2026.
- Existing customers: on bills dated on or after June 18, 2026, per the report.
Who it affected
Every US Residential and Roam customer except those on Roam 300GB, which had launched two days earlier at $80 (Roam 300GB post). Standby users paid double for each paused month.
What it did to your cost
Plan-only, over a full year after June 18:
- Residential 100 Mbps: $600 → $660 a year; $1,800 → $1,980 over three years.
- Residential 200 Mbps: $960 → $1,020; $2,880 → $3,060.
- Residential Max: $1,440 → $1,560; $4,320 → $4,680.
- Roam 100GB: $600 → $660; Roam Unlimited: $1,980 → $2,100.
- Standby, six months a year: $30 → $60.
Hardware costs did not change, so the full year-1 total moves by exactly the plan line. These are the prices our calculator uses today; see the prices page for each tier’s current figure and date checked.
What stayed the same
- Roam 300GB at $80.
- Kit prices, the 30-day return policy and the one-time demand surcharge rules.
- Data allowances on every tier.
What to check yourself
- Read your next bill against the new figures above. If you are on an older plan name, match it to the current tier on the prices page.
- Re-run your 3-year number in the calculator; the is-it-worth-it guide compares it with what you pay now.
- If you pause for part of the year, compare Standby at $10 with cancelling.
What we don’t know
- Whether any customers on 12-month commitment offers kept the old price until the commitment ended; the report doesn’t say.
- We did not see the notice email ourselves; dates are as reported.
