What changed
On May 14, 2026, RV Mobile Internet reported a new Roam 300GB plan at $80 a month, usable with both the Mini and the Standard dish.
| Roam tier (May 14, 2026) | Price per month | High-speed data |
|---|---|---|
| Roam 100GB | $50 | 100GB |
| Roam 300GB (new) | $80 | 300GB |
| Roam Unlimited | $165 | unlimited |
After 300GB the plan continues with unlimited reduced-speed data, and the report listed in-motion use up to 100 mph and optional Standby Mode (then $5 a month).
Who it affected
- Roam customers who outgrew 100GB but didn’t need Unlimited. Before, the next step up from $50 was $165.
- New Roam customers choosing a first plan.
- Residential customers were not affected by this launch.
What it did to the cost
The new tier cut the price of a mid-sized month sharply for heavy-but-not-unlimited users:
- Moving from Unlimited to 300GB (at May 14 prices): $165 − $80 = $85 a month saved, $1,020 a year, $3,060 over three years.
- Moving from 100GB to 300GB: $30 more a month, $360 a year, for triple the high-speed data.
Two days later, on May 16, Roam 100GB rose to $55 and Unlimited to $175, while 300GB stayed at $80 (May 2026 increase). At those prices the gap from Unlimited to 300GB is $95 a month, and from 100GB to 300GB, $25.
A simple way to read the ladder at the May 16, 2026 prices: if you regularly use more than 100GB but well under 300GB a month, the 300GB plan avoids the slowdown after 100GB for $25 more. If you go past 300GB often, only Unlimited avoids a slowdown, at $95 a month more than 300GB.
What stayed the same
- Roam 100GB and Unlimited stayed on sale.
- Unlimited low-speed data after the cap, as on Roam 100GB.
A note on international use
The same report said starlink.com briefly showed international roaming removed from the 100GB and 300GB plans and Unlimited cut to 14 days abroad, then rolled those changes back. We record it only as reported; it did not change US prices.
What to check yourself
- Check your monthly usage in the Starlink app and compare the three Roam tiers over 12 months in the calculator.
- Current Roam prices are on our prices page; the price history has the full path.
What we don’t know
- Whether the 300GB plan is available at every US address; the source did not mention limits.
- We could not open a May 2026 capture of the Roam plan page; figures are as reported.
